Rachelle M. Norberg

Rachelle is a Gregory County native, growing up and graduating from Burke High School in 2011. She then attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Political Science. Rachelle continued her education at USD where she earned her Juris Doctor in 2018, graduating with honors.

During her time in law school, Rachelle was a member of several organizations, including a member of the Trial Team and President  of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board. She represented USD in both regional and national tournaments. She was named a semifinalist in the 2018 Regional Client Counseling Competition and her trial team received accolades in Washington D.C., being awarded with the Best Use of Technology during the 2018 Capitol City Challenge Competition.

Rachelle returned to Burke after graduation to continue providing a wide variety of legal services to Burke and the surrounding communities as a participant of the Rural Attorney Recruitment Program. Rachelle currently serves as the Sixth Judicial Circuit's representative within the Young Lawyers Section (YLS), is a member of the Executive Council of the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Section (RPPT), and is member of the Solo and Small Firm Committee within the South Dakota State Bar. Rachelle also serves as City Attorney for the Cities of Burke, Bonesteel, and Fairfax, South Dakota, serves as a Director for Community Memorial Hospital and the Burke Business Promotion Corporation, and was selected as a member for Leadership South Dakota's 2019-2020 class. 

 

Rachelle is licensed to practice law in the State of South Dakota and the State of Nebraska. Rachelle is also a licensed abstracter and a licensed real estate broker. She enjoys spending time on the Missouri River, reading, and attending local events in her free time.
